The internet-based animation studio Invisible Universe has hired Shane Mang from Spin Master as their new Head of Licensing.
Invisible Universe is an entertainment technology company that focuses on creating and developing original character IPs in partnership with high-profile celebrities. These celebrities include Serena Williams, Jennifer Aniston, the D’Amelio Family, and more.
The company primarily uses social media and web3 platforms such as TikTok and Instagram to establish dedicated fan-bases for their animated IPs.
As Invisible Universe’s new Head of Licensing, Mang will be responsible for developing and launching licensing programs and consumer products partnerships for the studio’s IP portfolio. He will also focus his efforts on expanding the company’s franchise opportunities.
“Invisible Universe’s characters have already proven the ability to jump off the timelines of Instagram and TikTok and into publishing, digital collectibles, toys, and more,” said Tricia Biggio, CEO of Invisible Universe.
“As we look to supercharge the franchise extensions of our suite of IP, Shane is a critical hire to bring our vision to life,” Biggio added. “With his extensive expertise, industry relationships, and experience working with iconic kids’ brands, I have no doubt that Shane will help our IP to become the next generation’s favorite toys, books, games, and more.”
Prior to Invisible Universe, Mang held the position of Director of Global Sales and Outbound Licensing at Spin Master. He has also worked for several other children’s entertainment corporations throughout his career including WildBrain, The Jim Henson Company, and DHX Media.
Shane has more than a decade of experience in the licensing industry across multiple categories. These categories include consumer products, experiential licensing, NFTs, publishing, promotions, and digital media.
Throughout his career, Mang has developed and expanded global licensing programs for entertainment franchises such as Paw Patrol, Bakugan, Hatchimals, Teletubbies, and more.
“Modern content platforms are rapidly altering how people discover and interact with their favorite characters and franchises,” said Shane Mang. “Invisible Universe is leading the charge on these changing consumer habits like no other company. This creates immense opportunity for retailers, manufacturers, entertainment platforms, and ultimately for our consumers.”
“I’m excited to turn these franchises into household names and to build these programs alongside other best-in-class content and consumer goods companies.”
Invisible Universe’s portfolio of original IP currently includes characters such as Ember, Kayla & Kai, Qai Qai, Squeaky & Roy, Clydeo, and more.
