Rainbow, Maximum Entertainment Partner on New Winx Club Console Game
Rainbow has partnered with Maximum Entertainment to bring Winx Club back to console and PC gaming with a new licensed title scheduled for release in April 2026.
Titled Winx Club: The Magic is Back, the game marks the franchise’s first video game launch in more than a decade. It will be available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, with physical-edition preorders now open at select retailers worldwide.
The new game coincides with the rollout of the Winx Club: The Magic is Back animated series and is positioned as part of a broader relaunch of the long-running brand created by Rainbow founder Iginio Straffi. The console title blends magical combat, puzzle-solving and cooperative gameplay, aiming to appeal to both longtime fans and new audiences.
“With Winx Club: The Magic is Back, we’re celebrating the global love for the Winx universe and inviting fans, both longtime followers and newcomers, into a modern, magical gameplay experience that captures everything they cherish about Winx,” said Maximum Entertainment CEO Philippe Cohen.
Rainbow chief content officer Joanne Lee said the partnership reflects the enduring emotional connection fans have with the franchise. “For so many people, the Winx universe holds a special place in their hearts, and this game brings that magic to life in a fresh and exciting way,” Lee said.
Players will explore well-known locations from the Winx universe, including Alfea College, the Enchanted Forest, the Coastal Cliffs and the Desert Ruins of Red Fountain. Gameplay allows players to freely switch between all six Winx fairies, each with unique magical abilities designed to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. A two-player local co-op mode enables shared play.
The console game follows renewed momentum for the brand, which has seen strong international performance from the first 13 CGI-revived episodes of Winx Club: The Magic is Back. The series is airing on broadcasters including CBBC and iPlayer in the UK, TF1 in France and RAI in Italy, and is streaming globally on Netflix.
Maximum Entertainment is a global entertainment company focused on developing indie to AA video game experiences through original IP and licensed partnerships.
