BBC Studios has announced a new gaming collaboration that will bring its preschool hit Bluey into the world of Minecraft, expanding the brand’s interactive and digital footprint.
Launching globally on February 5, Bluey’s House will be available on the Minecraft Marketplace as downloadable content (DLC) for Minecraft Bedrock players. The experience marks the first official crossover between Bluey and Minecraft, allowing fans of the BAFTA and multi-Emmy Award-winning series to explore environments inspired by the animated show within the sandbox game’s platform.
The DLC was developed by Jigarbov Productions, in partnership with BBC Studios and Bluey producer Ludo Studio. It recreates the Heeler family home in Minecraft’s block-based style, giving players the opportunity to interact with characters including Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad. Gameplay includes exploration-based challenges such as searching for hidden keys to unlock new rooms, along with mini-games drawn from the series, including I-Spy, Hide and Seek and Ragdoll.
Designed for solo or shared play, the experience includes a range of interactive elements, easter eggs and additional activities that are unlocked as players progress through the environment.
Marina Mello, Global Director of Gaming & Interactive at BBC Studios, said the partnership reflects the company’s broader strategy of extending its brands beyond traditional screen-based formats.
“Bringing Bluey to Minecraft opens up a new way for fans to engage with the brand in a place where they already love to play,” Mello said. “This partnership is a great example of how we’re evolving the way our brands live beyond the screen. By collaborating with Microsoft and Jigarbov, we’re able to explore new forms of interactive storytelling that feel native to platforms like Minecraft, while staying true to what makes Bluey so special.”
To support the launch, Minecraft Bedrock players can access a free Chattermax Mask via the Minecraft Marketplace until 6 March, after which the item will be available for purchase.
BBC Studios Kids & Family holds global distribution and merchandise rights for Bluey, which is created and produced by Ludo Studio in Australia. The series continues to be a key driver of BBC Studios’ brands and licensing strategy, with the Minecraft integration adding a new dimension to the franchise’s global consumer engagement.
