The Art of Drag has entered a licensing partnership with Vampyre Cosmetics for the launch of a themed makeup collection.
Vampyre Cosmetics is a women-owned, disabled-owned and LGBTQ-owned business whose high-quality cosmetic products are vegan, cruelty-free and talc-free.
“We are thrilled to be bringing our skill and love of brilliant, exciting cosmetics to a brand that really is a perfect fit for us,” said Vampyre Cosmetics CEO, Rachel Clinesmith. “We’ve loved working with Art of Drag on a range that will add a bit of zhuzh to everyone’s life, on the runway, in clubs or just about anywhere. This is a match made in drag heaven!”
The Art of Drag x Vampyre Cosmetics collection includes a range of vibrantly pigmented eyeshadow palettes, brush sets, lipsticks, fake eyelashes and more. All of the items in the collection are offered in distinctive packaging that features licensed artwork and designs from the Art of Drag brand.
“We love how Vampyre Cosmetics renounces social constructs of beauty and replaces them with individual ones,” said Art of Drag director, Soula Zavacopoulos. “Art of Drag celebrates diversity and the beauty of being our unique selves, so we thought Vampyre Cosmetics would be a perfect partner, as they too hold these values.
“We also love how its innovative packaging is designed with such creative vision and originality, making each palette a collectible item,” added Zavacopoulos. “Condragulations to Vampyre Cosmetics!”
The licensed cosmetics line highlights several of the Art of Drag’s artistic designs that take famous artworks, featuring female cultural icons from throughout history, and replacing them with well-known drag artists.
Initially created by The London Studio, the Art of Drag recently became a stand-alone company, called Art of Drag Limited, that has its own dedicated staff, company strategy and budget. The new company is focused on building on its existing UK licensing program with new international partnerships and brand collaborations.
Art of Drag Limited remains closely connected to The London Studio design house through its founder, Soula Zavacopoulos, who serves as the director of both companies.
The Vampyre Cosmetics x Art of Drag collection first launched during this year’s global Pride Month celebration and will remain available both in-stores and through online e-commerce platforms year-round.
The licensing deal with Vampyre Cosmetics was brokered by Firefly Brand Management on behalf of Art of Drag Limited. Firefly has been selected as the Art of Drag’s official licensing representative for the United States and Canada.
