Authentic Brands Group just granted Outdoor Collective (OC) the manufacturing license for Spyder, a top brand in ski and snow apparel.
Founded in 1978, Spyder is globally recognized for its innovation, athlete-driven designs, and performance-driven winter sportswear.
The brand is also a leader in sustainability, as it has developed new fabric technologies that eliminate potentially harmful PFAs from its products. Authentic Brands Group acquired Spyder’s intellectual property in 2013.
This agreement will allow Outdoor Collective to oversee merchandising, design, operations, sales, marketing, sourcing, and production for Spyder.

“We are excited about this transition and are confident that Outdoor Collective is the right group to continue the legacy of quality and innovation that Spyder is known for,” said Brady Collings, President of Outdoor Collective On-Mountain.
Outdoor Collective’s objective is to enhance Spyder’s production capabilities while expanding its market presence. The company will also take on management of Spyder’s global offices, including its headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.
Outdoor Collective says it will continue to innovate within the Spyder brand, focusing on on-mountain, Freeski, Venom, full après ski, and year-round lifestyle categories. Additionally, the company is set to launch Billabong Outerwear in Fall 2025 under the guidance of a dedicated OC team.
Authentic says the collaboration is expected to strengthen Spyder’s position in the sportswear industry, with Outdoor Collective leveraging its expertise to drive innovation in snow and outdoor apparel.
Spyder will also play a key role in Outdoor Collective’s broader initiative to explore new sourcing opportunities outside of China and optimize global logistics.
“Spyder is one of the most respected performance brands in the world, built on decades of excellence and technical innovation,” said David Brooks, EVP of Action and Outdoor Sports, Lifestyle at Authentic. “Outdoor Collective has the expertise and vision to elevate Spyder to new heights while staying true to its heritage of delivering top-tier gear for winter athletes and enthusiasts.”
The transition of the manufacturing license is effective immediately, ensuring continuity in production and operations as Outdoor Collective integrates its resources. The company has emphasized its commitment to a smooth transition for customers and partners.
