The trailblazing street fashion brand Cross Colours has signed Licensing Haus as its exclusive licensing agent.
Cross Colours is a clothing brand launched in 1989 by Carl Jones, based on the idea of producing “clothes without prejudices.” Cross Colours notably helped establish a fashion market based around black youth, and the clothing was also used to broadcast political and social messages.
The brand’s offerings started with affordable, brightly colored T-shirts, jackets and caps, each accompanied by messages like “Stop D Violence” and “Educate 2 Elevate.” Hip teenagers latched onto the gear, which soon showed up on the backs of rappers and sitcom stars.
While the brand fell on hard times around 2014–15, it has enjoyed a powerful resurgence since then, and is now marketed through more than 3,000 retail outlets. Cross Colours is currently showcased by top fashion retailers like Nordstroms, UO, Macy’s, Champs and Zumiez, and has completed high-profile collaborations with Barbie, the NBA, Ethika , Ochiaishohe, and the Black Design Collective.
Cross Colours now wants to expand its presence in the brand licensing space, saying this strategic alliance with Licensing Haüs will mark an exciting new chapter in its four decade history.
Licensing Haüs is a TLL Top 20 Licensing Agency, and is well known for its expertise in brand expansion and market penetration. The agency also has deep expertise in ecommerce solutions.
Cross Colours said in a statement that their goal for the partnership is “to propel Cross Colours into new territories and product categories, further solidifying its position as a global lifestyle brand.”
“We are thrilled to join forces with Licensing Haüs to unlock the full potential of the Cross Colours brand,” said Cross Colours Co-Founders Carl Jones and TJ Walker. “This partnership represents an exciting opportunity to leverage our heritage and iconic status into new and diverse ventures, catering to the evolving tastes and preferences of our loyal fanbase.”
