Bidaya Media has appointed Epic Story Media as the content and licensing agent for its animated series, The Adventures of Mansour: Age of AI.
Launched in 2017, Epic Story Media (ESM) is a children’s franchise development and investment company that provides support to IP creators in the areas of licensing, production, distribution, and more.
ESM will represent the new Mansour series worldwide (excluding the MENA and China territories) with the aim of securing broadcast rights across multiple linear and streaming platforms.
The series will join ESM’s portfolio of franchises at the upcoming MIPTV trade show event in France, and will be represented by the company at numerous licensing and content distribution forums going forward.
“We’re extremely excited to start this partnership with one of the top production companies in the Middle East and help deliver compelling stories that match our commitment to diversity and finding cultural and authentic content, relatable for a global audience,” said ESM president, Ken Faier. “We’re proud to work with Bidaya Media and to bring Mansour to our unique slate that we’ll be presenting at MIPTV.
“As with all our projects, we love properties that have those unique elements that can deliver an expansive 360 experience,” Faier added. “Mansour: Age of A.I. has so much to offer fans who want to delve deeper into their favourite characters and stories, and we look forward to exploring this over the coming years with Bidaya.”
The Adventures of Mansour: Age of AI is a 2D-animated adventure series that is based on Bidaya Media’s original Mansour series. The children’s series follows a young tech genius named Mansour who upgrades his sister’s robotic gerbil plush with high-end chips and algorithms.
The upgraded gerbil plush ends up downloading all of the information in the high-tech world of Salam City, which turns him into a mischievous digital shapeshifter that is intent on sabotaging Mansour and his world.
The new series is developed and produced by Bidaya in both English and Arabic.
“Mansour has captured the imagination of children across the MENA region in a powerful way,” said Bidaya Media CEO, Nabil El Jisr.
“We are inspired to build on this success with the production of the new season of Mansour and by partnering with Epic to achieve global reach and inspire a new generation of children around the world,” added Jisr. “As a uniquely entertaining show that harnesses positive, universal values, Mansour addresses the major influences affecting children’s lives and has the potential to create a positive impact for future generations.”
Bidaya Media is a production company in the Middle East and North African region that develops original content for children of all ages. In addition to the company’s flagship IP Mansour, Bidaya is known for developing and producing an Arabic version of Sesame Street called Iftah Ya Simsim.
