Electronic Arts has signed a licensing partnership with Formula One Racer Max Verstappen for its video game label EA Sports.
EA Sports is a division of the interactive entertainment company Electronic Arts. The EA Sports brand label specializes in developing and publishing video games that simulate popular sport leagues such as FIFA, UFC, NFL, F1, and more.
The deal, which includes sponsorship for the 2023 F1 season, will see Verstappen collaborate with EA Sports to create content across the brand’s portfolio.
“Whether it’s playing games with my friends or staying competitive when away from the track, EA SPORTS has always been a big part of my life,” said Verstappen. “EA SPORTS is an icon for so many millions of fans, and I’m proud to represent them for the 2023 season.”
The licensing agreement will also include EA Sports branding featured on the chin of Verstappen’s race helmet throughout the 2023 F1 season.
Verstappen won his first FIA Formula One World Championship in the final race of the 2021 season.
The Dutch racer also took the Champion title at the F1 Honda Japanese Grand Prix 2022 with four races to spare.
“Max is a tenacious competitor and true champion who shares a deep love of games and play,” said EA Sports SVP, Andrea Hopelain.
“As he races into Formula One history, we are excited to collaborate with him as one of the best athletes in the world to bring more fans together through our EA SPORTS experiences.”
Electronic Arts is a global company that specializes in developing and distributing video games, digital content, and online services for consoles, mobile devices and PCs.
