The video game developer Psyonix has partnered with Metro Goldwyn Mayer and Aston Martin for the 60th anniversary of James Bond: 007.
The collaboration between the three companies centers around licensed James Bond-themed content for Psyonix’s popular video game, Rocket League.
Originally founded in 1924, Metro Goldwyn Mayer is the owner of the James Bond IP and the producer of several popular James Bond feature films. MGM is an American media company that produces and distributes films and television programs.
Rocket League is an award-winning hybrid of arcade-style soccer games and vehicle racing games. The video game includes extensive customization options, online Ranks and Competitive Tournaments, a fully featured offline season mode, multiple game types, casual and competitive online matches, and special Mutators that let you change the rules entirely.
007’s Aston Martin DBS is making its debut in the Rocket League game and will include 007’s Aston Martin DBS Engine Audio, 007’s Aston Martin DBS Wheels, a Reel Life Decal, and Aston Martin DBS Player Banner. The James Bond Theme will also be available for the first time in the game as a Player Anthem.
The suave spy James Bond was first introduced in a series of novels by Ian Fleming which were released in 1953. 007 has since been adapted for television, radio, comic strips, video games and film.
Bond’s most famous car is the Aston Martin DB5, first seen in the 1964 film Goldfinger. It later featured in Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre.
Aston Martin is a luxury automobile manufacturer that is known for its sports car designs. The brand is considered a British cultural icon.
007’s Aston Martin DBS will be available for 1100 in-game Credits and the James Bond Theme Player Anthem will be available for 300 Credits in the Item Shop.
In addition, the previously released 007’s Aston Martin DB5 and 007’s Aston Martin Valhalla will be returning and available in the Item Shop for 1100 Credits each.
The James Bond-themed content will be available on Rocket League from July 13 until July 19.
