Poetic Brands has partnered with Crooked Tongues and Universal Pictures to launch an exclusive apparel collection based on Felix the Cat.
Felix the Cat is an animated character that was originally created in 1919 by Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer. In fact, Felix the Cat is widely considered the oldest animated character in the world, predating Mickey Mouse, for example, by nine years. That also makes Felix the oldest trademarked brand for animation.
The Felix the Cat IP is currently owned by Universal Pictures through its Dreamworks Animation subsidiary.
The licensed apparel collection by Crooked Tongues and Poetic Brands will feature several clothing styles including jeans, shirts, hoodies, varsity jackets, a bespoke knitted jumper and a two-piece jogger and hoodie set.
Crooked Tongues is a streetwear brand known for its color-block graphics, oversized clothing, and pop-culture influences.
“The Felix the Cat character really suits the Crooked Tongue big, bold graphic vibe, and we’re thrilled with this great match,” said Poetic Brands director, Elliott Matthews. “The range will delight Felix fans and clothing connoisseurs alike.”
Established in 2015, Poetic Brands focuses on developing licensed apparel collections in collaboration with internationally-recognized brands and character IPs. Poetic Brands is a part of the global supply chain management specialist, the PDS Multinational Group.
