RHS and Sofas & Stuff are launching a new licensed collection of home decoration fabrics featuring assets from the RHS Lindley Collections.
Founded in 1804, the Royal Horticultural Society is the UK’s largest gardening charity. The RHS provides garden shows, scientific research, library collections, educational initiatives, and community programmes that are solely-funded by its members, visitors and supporters.
“The combination of great gardening art and design with the skill and commitment to excellence of the Sofas & Stuff craftspeople has again produced some glorious and unique fabric designs,” said RHS manager Cathy Snow. “The fine quality and stunning fabrics that lie at the very heart of Sofas & Stuff’s work have yet again taken inspiration from RHS Lindley Collections art to extraordinary effect.”
The RHS 23 Fabric Collection is based on RHS Lindley assets from Gertrude Jekyll’s Designs for Carving scrapbook and a collage design from Caroline Maria Applebee.

Seven Designs for Carving prints have been produced for the fabrics in ten colors each. The available colors include red, navy, blue, duck egg, green, olive, terracotta, gold, natural, and brown.
The Caroline Maria Applebee collage design is an illustrated botanical print on a natural-toned base.
This new collection marks the second licensing partnership between the RHS and the Sofas & Stuff home goods manufacturer.
“The success of the RHS 22 Fabric Collection has inspired us once again to adapt for our fabrics some of the extraordinary botanical art the RHS makes available to its licensees,” said Sofas & Stuff founder, Andrew Cussins. “Gertrude Jekyll’s position as one of the most influential and admired of garden designers has made her a wonderful choice for this new collaboration, which we are sure will again be enthusiastically received by both homeowners and lovers of fine British craftsmanship.”
Sofas & Stuff is a family-run British furniture business that primarily creates high-quality handcrafted sofas, beds, chairs, fabrics, and more.
The RHS 23 Fabric Collection will launch at Stand 615 of the Soane House Installation at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show from May 22 to May 27, 2023. It will then be available exclusively through Sofas & Stuff retail locations across England and Scotland and online.
