Tapatío Foods has partnered with Chipoys to create new licensed snacks flavored with Tapatío’s signature hot sauce.
The collaborative partnership will bring the spice and flavor of Tapatío’s hot sauce to Chipoys existing range of thick-cut, Mexican-style potato chips.
“Tapatío has always been about bringing people together through flavor,” said Tapatío licensing operations director, Roche McCoy. “Partnering with Chipoys allows us to extend that tradition into the snacking aisle with an exciting, authentic product we know our fans will love.”
The agreement with Chipoys was brokered by Brand Central as Tapatío’s exclusive licensing agent.
Brand Central is a global licensing agency that provides comprehensive services across brand extensions, manufacturer representation and creative development.
The agency’s team is made up of experts with extensive experience across the licensing, retail, manufacturing and brand management industries.
“We’re thrilled to have brokered this exciting partnership between Tapatío and Chipoys,” said Brand Central CEO, Ross Misher. “It’s a perfect example of how licensing can expand iconic brands into new categories and bring even more value to their fans.”
Set to roll out across the United States, the co-branded potato chips will be available for purchase through a network of independent convenience stores nationwide.
In addition, the Tapatío x Chipoys collaboration will also be featured at this year’s NACS trade show in Chicago from October 15 to 17.
Tapatió is a family-run business that has been producing its branded hot sauce since 1971.
Since its initial creation, the Tapatió hot sauce brand has expanded to include an extensive licensing program that includes seasonings, snacks, meals, apparel and more.
“This partnership is about giving fans a new way to enjoy the bold heat they already love,” said Chipoys CEO, James Lindsay.
