The Point.1888 has secured several new licensees for Team GB’s consumer products program ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Team GB is the national Olympic team of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the main athletic branch of the privately-funded British Olympic Association (BOA).
Supported by The Point.1888 agency, Team GB’s licensing program includes a wide range of consumer product categories across online and traditional retail channels.
“Team GB has a long-standing history in licensing, but we’re always impressed with the fresh ideas and opportunities that The Point.1888 brings to the table,” said Team GB SLM, Amber Jeffries Keel. “Their approach helps us expand our presence and work with new licensees to delight our fans. We can’t wait to see these exciting new products as the nation rallies together to support our team.”
As part of the program, the brand has signed four new licensees in the fashion category that cover multiple age and lifestyle demographics.
This includes Mappin & Webb for luxury jewelry, OddBalls for branded underwear, Brecrest Sports for infant apparel and Fashion UK for a range of clothing and accessories.
In the sports and fitness category, Team GB has secured new licensing partnerships with Brompton Bicycle, Hy-Pro Sports, Micro-Scooter and VOW Nutrition.
Brompton Bicycle has been selected to create a line of Team GB inspired fold-up bikes.
Hy-Pro Sports will manufacture branded Team GB sport and fitness equipment.
Micro-Scooter has signed on for a licensed collection of Team GB scooter products.
VOW Nutrition is creating a line of Team GB inspired nutrition products and reusable water bottles.
For toys and collectibles, Team GB has partnered with four new companies that specialize in developing and manufacturing high-quality products.
These licensees include Gibson Games for puzzles and games, Aurora World for plush toys and gifts, and premium collectibles from The Royal Mint and MBI, Inc.
Three additional partners for Team GB have been secured for licensed stationary, publishing and gifting products.
These new agreements will feature an upcoming collection of gifts and stationary from BB Designs, and personalized kids books from Hachette Children’s Group and You Are The Star.
“We’re delighted with this range of new licensees, which bring together a fantastic variety of products at retail that are sure to appeal to fans of all ages,” said The Point.1888 manager, Sadie Wright. “We are sure our retail activations and product roll out will bring a summer of sport and excitement to customers.”
Since the agency began representing Team GB in 2019, The Point.1888 has secured an extensive range of partnerships with both retailers and manufacturers, especially in the clothing and fashion sector.
With less than four months until the Paris 2024 Olympic Games officially begin, Team GB’s retail and licensing programme will continue to generate income to support its athletes in the lead up to and during the Games.
The BOA is an independent organization that generates funding and revenue from commercial partners, patrons and fundraising events to train and represent Team GB’s athletes in the Olympic Games.
