Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment has launched a 2024 WiT Foundation Scholarship to support undergraduate students who are pursuing degrees in industry-related fields.
Designed to reach a wide range of women, the scholarship program is available to students have an interest in pursuing a career in the consumer products, toys, licensing and entertainment industries.
This includes undergraduate degrees in fields such as business management, design, engineering, computer science, e-commerce, marketing, entrepreneurship, law, creative arts and other industry-related programs.
The updated scholarship program includes a one-year WiT membership, career-focused education, enrollment in WiT’s Ruth Handler Mentorship Program, a financial award of $5,000 and more.
“This program advances WiT’s commitment to foster an industry culture where every woman can thrive,” said WiT co-chairs, Angelina Castro and Kristin Lecour. “Our goal is to develop female leaders and build a more robust pipeline of professionals in consumer products. By providing financial support, career development, industry education and professional mentorship to these students, we will inspire a more inclusive and equitable community.”
Scholarship award recipients will also be invited to attend WiT’s Wonder Women Awards Gala in Los Angeles on Sept. 13, 2024, where they will be recognized alongside established industry professionals.
Applicants to the newly redesigned program must fulfill several requirements to be considered for the 2024 WiT Foundation Scholarship.
Potential applicants must live in the US or Canada, be attending an accredited college or university as a full-time undergraduate student and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
WiT is currently accepting applications for the scholarship, with the deadline to apply set for June 17, 2024.
Scholarship awards will be granted to recipients in August 2024 and will be based on a student’s merit and leadership.
The scholarship is funded by donations made to the Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment Foundation.
Initially founded in 1991, Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment is a global nonprofit organization advocates for gender equality in the workplace, provides professional networking opportunities, offers resources, educational programming and hosts industry-related events.
