The Italian fashion house Kappa was named as outfitter for the 24 Hours of Le Mans by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO).
The 2024 Le Mans race is expected to run before a full house, as the ACO has reported “unprecedented ticket sales” for what many consider the world’s premiere auto racing event. Along with the Monaco Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500, Le Mans is one of the races that forms the Triple Crown of Motorsport. Run since 1923, it is also the oldest endurance race in the world.
“The ACO is delighted to welcome a new partner to the fold,” the club said in a statement. “As official outfitter of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Kappa will be associated with the world’s greatest motor race.”
The partnership agreement, which was brokered by Le Mans’ exclusive licensing agency IMG, spans three years, covering the 2024, 2025 and 2026 events.
“We are proud to officialize our partnership with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s greatest endurance race,” said Rémi Garnier, Country Manager for Kappa in France. “It gives us great pleasure to strengthen our ties with the motorsport world and to pursue our commitment to the sector with a long-standing, iconic brand. The partnership gives us the opportunity to create unique collections for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, drawing on our respective brands’ identity to offer fans around the world garments they love to wear. We shall be the official supplier for ACO staff and look forward to engaging with race fans through our brands.”
The ACO says it’s proud to be collaborating with the well-known Turin-based brand established in 1967, a purveyor of high-quality, stylish garments.
Under the agreement, permanent ACO staff members will proudly sport Kappa clothing and the brand will design a new range each year under the 24 Hours of Le Mans licence, available in the organization’s official stores, online, and in the race village.
“On behalf of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, I would like to welcome Kappa, an emblematic brand with solid ties to the sporting arena,” said Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. “We are excited to be building new relationships at a time when endurance racing is undergoing a surge in popularity. Kappa will add impetus to our growth as a vector for the 24 Hours of Le Mans brand.”
