Mattel’s Barbie is rocking the doll aisle, naming four-time Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz as its second Kenbassador.
Barbie has unveiled a Barbie Signature collector doll inspired by Kravitz’s Blue Electric Light Tour look. Like Kravitz himself, the doll is seriously ripped, boasting a six-pack of abs as well as Kravitz’s signature locs, nose ring and tattoos. The foot-tall Lenny Kravitz draws from the singer’s on-stage style, pairing a bronze-colored mesh cowl-neck tank with boot-cut denim jeans, a studded belt, boots, and sunglasses for a true rock-inspired look.
Kravitz himself seems thrilled by the advent of his own “Mini-Me.”
“Barbie is an institution and as a kid growing up, I could not have imagined this,” Kravitz said. “To be chosen by Mattel as a Kenbassador, only the second one in history, is an honor and absolutely surreal.”
Kravitz now joins a very exclusive club. Prior to his Kenbassador doll, the first and only Kenbassador was basketball star LeBron James. That doll immediately sold out when it was released in 2025, and has since shown up on third-party collector sites, commanding high prices.
Also like the LeBron James doll, the latest Kenbassador will support a charity chosen by the rocker.
For every LeBron James Kenbassador doll sold at Target, Mattel donated a copy of the athlete’s book, “I Am More Than” to the Save the Children organization.
Kravitz’s collaboration with Mattel will reportedly benefit the singer’s non-profit organization, the Let Love Rule Foundation, which focuses on providing medical care, disaster relief, and food assistance.
The original Ken doll was introduced in 1961, but unlike his gal pal Barbie, he had more of a “Just Ken” experience, never getting his own celebrity matchups.
The LeBron James sales figures probably changed all that, along with Ken’s star turn in the Barbie movie. Is a Ryan Gosling Kenbassador in the works at this point? You’ve got to think so.
The doll is now available online through Mattel Creations and major retailers for a suggested retail price of $70.
Mattel says the Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Lenny Kravitz Collectible Doll celebrates the singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, actor, and designer as the latest honoree in the Kenbassadors Collection, part of Barbie’s continuing celebration of Ken’s 65th anniversary in 2026.
Far from retiring at 65, Ken is working harder than ever, featuring in advertising campaigns with Expedia and in several licensing programs.
Kravitz is certainly a worthy addition as the second-ever Kenbassador. There aren’t many musicians who can claim four Grammys, and Kravitz has been releasing chart-smashing rock songs since he broke into the music scene in 1989.
He has also branched out into acting, even appearing in The Hunger Games.
“As we continue to celebrate Ken’s 65th anniversary this year, we are incredibly excited to recognize Lenny Kravitz as the second honoree in our Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Collection,” said Nathan Baynard, vice president and head of Barbie at Mattel. “From his genre-defying music to his fearless approach to personal style, Lenny uses his platform to champion individuality while empowering others to do the same.
“We’re proud to honor his lasting influence on style and culture through this doll, giving fans a new way to celebrate an artist whose authenticity continues to inspire generations.”
Anyone wanting to get their hands on the Lenny Kravitz doll should act fast. Like the LeBron James doll, the latest Kenbassador is expected to sell out quickly, and command high prices on the secondary market.
