London Spirit and Transport for London have entered an exclusive apparel partnership ahead of the third edition of The Hundred cricket sports tournament.
London Spirit is a professional 100-ball men’s and women’s cricket team based in North London. The team represents the counties of Middlesex, Essex and Northamptonshire in The Hundred tournament.
“We’re delighted to be hitting the boundary once again with this exciting collaboration with London Spirit,” said TfL licensing manager, Ellen Sankey. “The Tube network has helped people travel to amazing cricket matches at the Oval and Lords for more than 100 years and collaborations like this show just how our designs can be used to bring our history together for customers across the world.”
The limited-edition London Spirit apparel collection will feature patterns inspired by iconography from the London Underground such as the TfL Roundel and train station designs.
“The London Underground is so iconic and such a big part of Londoner’s lives,” said London Spirit player, Ravi Bopara. “It’s great to see that link made through our London Spirit teamwear and I think our fans will love it. I’m looking forward to seeing them filling the stands and getting behind us this year as we try to win the competition.”
Run by the England and Wales Cricket Board, this year’s edition of The Hundred cricket tournament takes place on August 1 and will be broadcast on Sky Sports Cricket and BBC Sport digital platforms. The Hundred tournament will also feature a licensing partnership with BBC Music Introducing.
The limited-edition London Spirit x TfL aparrel collection is available to purchase online and at Lord’s Cricket Ground for all London Spirit home games.
